It’s a particularly odd situation that the Lib Dems have got themselves into. They ditch an alcoholic (yet hugely popular) leader for a hugely talented successor, at least dozens of times his age. They then realise he’s hopelessly old fashioned, the media decides he’s a liability because of his age (not the same thing) and they ditch him too (ostensibly because of his age). They rush towards Nick Clegg and Chris Huhne as youthful (although Huhne doesn’t really look youthful, his cheeky dirty tricks suggest he is) saviours, only to find that their acting leader Vince Cable (inexplicably not fighting to keep the job) is outperforming them at every turn.
Oh and is about double their age.
