Well here I am again – a new online name, a new start, largely reflecting the new shot at life which I was granted just two days ago. I think I lost touch with blogging some time ago – partly out of boredom, partly for personal reasons, and it’s something I’m eager to reconnect with. But what to use? Should this be a daily diary, when the act of witholding information or sharing it merely with a partner could be that much greater? And why bother posting political ideas when at regular points I’ll be voting to make my feelings heard? I’m not sure of the answers here, but I have learned a few things these last six months:

- shared political outrage on the internet, even in our withdrawn, disconnected society, can have significant results
- maintaining an essentially entirely free voice on the web is one of the most powerful acts of individuality left, and is one which even our enlightened society would be all too happy to suppress
- your friends (even your ‘internet friends’) are everything.

I restart my life now with more collected wisdom around me, and more connection with my own potential than ever before. And this man:

is teaching me how to meditate and access my spirit of happiness and exploration which I thought had been beaten out of me by life many years ago. It’s reinforcing the ‘good’ core of me which has had to put up with so much over so long, the turning my back on which earlier this year nearly ended with my losing everything. I doubt I would ever have considered this path seriously had I not read Alistair’s blog and been captivated by his spellbinding writing and the genuineness of what he had to offer.

So this time I think I’ll stick around, even if none of you reply. I think it’ll help focus my mind in yet another way, as my photography has allowed me to do in other ways. I know that if I embrace this explorer side of me, which Alistair is so freely in touch with in his own life, that where I (and we) go from here could be limitless. Imagine that.
